A steady pace of new buildings are going up around Lyon; other buildings are being remodeled, or retrofitted. The walk into the city centre from our apartment ensures we encounter at least a few construction sites along the way.

Yesterday, on the way back from the prefecture, we chanced upon a building being torn down. The corner building was less than a shell of its former self. The sight of painted internal walls exposed to the street was arresting.
